As we arrived at Silvermine we were greeted by mist and cloud.
We Ubered to the start of leg 4 on Chapman’s peak so that our car will be at the finish. The 13 peaks did include some logistical planning as our start and finish were never the same. Thank goodness we have Uber.
So our first Peak of the day was Chapmans Peak, we started with a climb up Muizenberg Hiking trail (no better way to warm up those legs than with a climb), Chapman’s peak was covered in cloud which made it terrible as we could never see how much further to the top.
Eventually, we reached the top of Chapman’s Peak, the clouds moved away for 15 seconds for us to quickly enjoy the view before moving on.
Noordhoek peak was next, so after a quick down from Chapman’s Peak, it was a serious climb up to Noordhoek. The views from on top were amazing, with no clouds in sight. We relaxed here a bit longer and enjoyed the views.
From Noordhoek Peak, it was downhill for about 10 km, perfect for stretching those legs and making up time (Bella and I are a few downhill junkies). Down, Down and Down we go. After the lovely down into Silvermine, we crossed the road to Silvermine Gate 2 for a very easy, gently climb up to Muizenberg peak.
Bella needed no assistance from me on any of the peaks. There was enough water on the mountain to keep Bella hydrated and this was by far the easiest leg so far. 25 km done and dusted and ready to relax for the weekend.
I am noticing a big difference in Bella since I started using the Hip & Joint from Untamed Animal Health and doing the Stretching exercises given to us by PetsinBalance.
