Ever wonder what your dog poop does to the environment or what the correct way to dispose of the poop is?
The shops have started to lead us into the direction of saying no to single-use plastic items, so why do some of us still use plastic bags for our dog poop?
Recently I started noticing biodegradable poop bags in the shop, and this made me think that what I’ve been doing for years, picking up dog poop with normal plastic bags is maybe not the correct or best thing to do.
After some research, I came upon a wonderful local product called “Big Scoop SA”. For only R530 I received a starter pack that consists of a 25L drum, drum bag, pickup bags, organic spray to help with the smell, and some organic absorption mix. With 3 big dogs (and some fosters that come and go) I have not even come to nearly 1/4 of the drum full of poop after a month. The drum has hardly any smell thanks to the organic absorption mix and organic spray.
The founders of Big Scoop SA have some great plans for the way forward and I look forward to finding out more and supporting this great cause.
